ABOUT MICHELE MILAN
Michele is a seasoned leader, board member and leadership development professional with 20 years of experience in designing and delivering leadership and director development programs for the private and public sectors including, government, industry and not-for-profits. As an experienced mindfulness practitioner and teacher and the former CEO of Rotman Executive Programs at the University of Toronto, Michele has worked with hundreds of organizations in Canada, the U.S., China, Korea, Brazil, the UAE and Europe.
Michele holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics, a Masters in Comparative Religious Studies and an Interdisciplinary Certification in Mindfulness Meditation from the University of Toronto. She has completed countless retreats and training programs over the years including: the Rotman Executive Leadership Program (Rotman), Search Inside Yourself Program (SIYLI), the Integrative Thinking Program (Rotman), and has studied with Matthieu Ricard, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli.
Additionally, she has served on the Board of the Global Consortium for University Based Executive Education which runs three conferences annually for deans and heads of business school executive programs, A Mindful Society whose 2018 conference was attended by 800 people from 15 countries, The CHRO Leadership Summit, The CFO Executive Summit and is a member of Mindfulness Toronto, Choir!Choir!Choir!, the Institute for Corporate Directors and Mindful Gateway.
Message from the founder
Using evidence-based mindfulness and reflective practices, people can strengthen their capacity to perform in highly demanding environments characterized by increasing pace and complexity. Examining the impact of modern work culture and our habits, we can develop practices that increase resilience, emotional intelligence, self awareness and cognitive flexibility and improve decision-making and problem-solving. Applying these practices to their roles as leaders increases their effectiveness and allows them to have more impact.
I strongly believe that most leaders have within themselves great untapped capacity and potential. For performance and for resilience, but more than that. I believe in the desire of leaders to be good, to do good, to make a difference. Helping them remember or find their purpose and access their own internal reservoirs of strength and power is incredibly rewarding. Working with values-based leaders in purpose-driven organizations allows me to feel I am helping to make the world a better place. And that is a necessary action and for me, right livelihood.
I don’t want to help people run better meetings; I want to help them find their inner greatness, their purpose and the meaning in their work.
